I don't usually enter competitions but something made me respond to a link on Instagram to join an online gallery, Loopgl.

I submitted my paintings and then started to promote through Instagram and Facebook, the idea being the more votes you get for a painting the more likely your work would be displayed on a London poster site. In return voters are entered into a free prize draw for a weekend to New York.

So much to my surprise I received an email saying I had enough votes for two posters one in Shaftesbury Avenue and the other in Hoxton East London on 14th March. I was visiting a friend that day, so "talk about being in the right place at the right time"

The voting is still open allowing us artists the chance to win a cash prize, please click on the link to vote for me. Thanks for voting

  2. Hi All,

Recently I visited the beautiful South Africa and was amazed by seeing endangerd animals in their natural habitat. I came home and tried to put my experiences down on canvas as best I could to recapture some of the magical moments. I thought I would share these with you.

Elephants have always been a favourite of mine, I'll never tire of watching them. It was great seeing the younger one holding on to his brother's tail, a good composition to paint with their Mum just behind.

We travelled over this river bed many times and I never failed to be drawn to the beautifully graceful Impala who crossed it too. There were so many herds of them.

This painting of the very rare white rhinos and is still proving a challenge for me
